This course is designed for Technologists and Managers who would like to understand this topic of RCS Business Messaging at an overall level as well as get in more technical details. Each section of this course is laid out in a way that it starts with:
- First Refresh some of the technical details that we have gone through in my other two RCS related courses i.e "Introduction to RCS" and "RCS Chat Sessions A to Z". We shall use all RCS information that we have built and see how it can be applied to implement messaging between Business Chatbots and their Current or Potential customers.
- Knowingly or Unknowingly, if we look at our daily life, we are already communicating with Business Chatbots (we shall also use the terminology Business Applications). Be it getting information about your Flight Status, or talking to a Travel Chatbot which provides you whatever you are looking for your travel needs. Or May be initiating a Voice call to a Customer Support Service Number which is directed to a Chatbot.
- Some of these Chatbots may be powered by Artificial Intelligence (AI) and provide very useful to the point information which the customers may be looking for. So we shall be looking at how P2A (Person to Application) and A2P (Applications to Person) content flows work.
- There are few questions that must be addressed regarding what Businesses Require from RCS framework and what type of sureties can convince them to Integrate their Business Eco system with RCS so that they can see the communication between Chatbots and end users become feasible as they want.
- We have covered the setup of Chat Sessions in detail in other course but here we shall extend it further to see how the contents in the form of a File Transfer can be exchanged through this framework. To get a better understanding of File Transfer we shall learn some basic aspects and evolution of HTTP protocol which is used in this communication.
- We shall talk about the overall Network Architecture describing all the functional blocks and how they interwork with each other. MaaP (Messaging as a Platform) interfacing with the hosted Chatbots on one side will be the main interface between the Business World and the Mobile Network Operators who provide the RCS framework. We also call this Eco System as RCS Aggregator.
- The best way to understand how the A2P and P2A Communication works, we shall see End to End Call Flows where we shall see all the control and payloads transactions. The IMS Data Channel Server is another enabler which allows multimedia contents (like video, images, links and Push button prompts) to be exchanged between Chatbots and end users. We shall talk about Data Channel Server and some sample Messages to understand their structure and what parameters are important to look at.
