Here is the trap almost nobody warns you about. Most candidates prepare by taking the free Open Assessment over and over until they score full marks, then walk into the real thing feeling ready. What they have actually done is memorise one small, fixed set of questions. The live assessment draws from a far larger pool, phrases things differently, and carries a demanding passing threshold with one of the tightest time budgets of any Scrum assessment. Confidence built on repetition of the same questions evaporates in the first few minutes.

The second trap is subtler and costs more people their pass. You answer from experience — and your experience is of Scrum as your organisation practises it. If your Scrum Master runs the standup, assigns work, writes the reports and negotiates deadlines, that is what will feel correct to you. It is also what the wrong answers are built to look like. How to use this course

Read the Scrum Guide first, properly and recently — it is short, free, and it is the source of truth for every answer here. Then sit the first test cold and timed, without pausing and without looking anything up. When you get a question wrong, do not just note the right answer: work out whether you were missing knowledge or importing a habit from your workplace. Those two failures need different fixes, and only one of them is solved by rereading. Repeat until you clear the pass bar comfortably with time to spare, then book it.

Worth knowing: PSM I does not expire and carries no renewal fee. Pass it once and it is yours permanently — no annual maintenance module, no renewal invoice, and no mandatory course before you are allowed to sit it. That combination makes it one of the strongest value credentials in the Agile space, and one reason employers increasingly recognise it.
