Most business presentations are a document that gets read aloud. Everything that was in the analysis goes onto the slides, in the order it was produced, and the audience is asked to reconstruct the point.

A presentation is not a report with a person attached. It has one message, and everything that does not serve it is cut.

Why good material presents badly

You know the subject too well, so you present the process rather than the conclusion. The deck opens with background, because that is how you got there, and the audience decides in ninety seconds whether this concerns them. The features are listed accurately and never translated into what they mean for the person listening. And a hostile question arrives, you defend, and the room concludes you were not sure.

Online it gets worse. There is no social pressure to keep watching, no visible reaction to adjust to, and a browser tab one click away.

What the course covers

Thirty-eight lessons in six parts. The speaker first, eight lessons on the competencies that decide whether people take you seriously: active listening as a technique, empathy, courage, integrity, and the willingness to admit an error out loud — which costs far less than defending one.

Then the message. Six lessons taken from brand work: the positioning statement, and the messaging matrix that turns one position into six versions for six audiences, plus tone of voice and the big idea that survives beyond a single meeting.

Structure, audience and delivery

Then the story structure. AIDA and SPIN for the shape of the argument, FAB for turning what something is into why it matters, the persuasion ladder, storytelling instead of feature lists, and objection handling with LAER and Feel-Felt-Found — because the question you dread is the moment the room decides.

Then the audience: segmentation, personas, channel choice, presenting news nobody wants, and measuring whether behaviour changed rather than whether people were polite afterwards.

Then delivery, six lessons on presenting live and online: how adults actually take information in, structuring a session, behaviour on camera, working an audience you cannot see, keeping engagement without social pressure, and evaluating what landed. And finally facilitation — holding the room, handling the participant who challenges everything, and closing with something decided.
