Practice security decisions across GitHub code, secrets, dependencies, operations, and administration with 120 original scenario questions. This course contains two distinct 60-question tests based on the six topic areas in the GH-500 study guide for skills measured from July 2026. Every question includes four answer options and an explanation for each option, including the incorrect alternatives.
The scenarios ask you to choose appropriate security controls, interpret findings, investigate configuration gaps, and evaluate remediation evidence. Topics include secret scanning and push protection, custom credential patterns, dependency inventory, Dependabot, dependency review, CodeQL setup, SARIF results, security campaigns, access boundaries, and organization-wide configuration. You will also practice distinguishing a successful technical fix from a change that merely makes a dashboard look better.
Each test includes questions from all six topic areas. The tests use different scenarios rather than repeating the same question with a different repository name. Questions emphasize reasoning about requirements and tradeoffs: what a control does, what evidence supports a decision, and what an alert or successful request does not prove. Reference links point to official documentation for further study.
For productive study, explain your answer before opening the feedback. Review why each alternative fails to meet the stated requirement, then revisit the relevant documentation. If you have a suitable practice environment, explore settings and workflows using harmless test data. The course does not require a paid GitHub subscription to attempt its practice tests, and it does not include a live lab environment.
This is an independent practice-test course from Cloudpuz Academy, not an official GitHub or Microsoft product. It contains no copied examination questions or exam dumps and makes no passing-score guarantee. The 60-question test length, time limit, and practice threshold are study settings rather than a reproduction of the official examination format. Product features can change; consult the current documentation and exam guide before scheduling your exam.
