Practice the decisions behind effective FinOps with 120 original questions from Cloudpuz Academy. This independent course contains two different sets of 60 questions for learners developing FinOps practitioner knowledge. Each question has four options, one best answer, explanations for every option and a reference for further study. All cases and numerical examples are hypothetical and independently written. The course does not use recalled examination questions or reproduce an official sample examination.
Begin with the foundations of a collaborative practice: business value, responsibility for consumption, shared evidence, timely information and central enablement. Work through scenarios involving engineering, finance, product, procurement and leadership. Explore iterative Inform, Optimize and Operate activities, sensible maturity investments and scopes that can span multiple technology categories. The questions emphasize the decision supported by a process instead of treating maturity labels or report counts as proof of success.
The usage and cost section examines corrected exports, duplicate ingestion, currency and unit normalization, data completeness, ownership joins and traceability. Allocation scenarios cover shared services, effective dates, valid cost-center mapping, unallocated costs and reconciliation. Further questions address seasonal anomalies, response ownership, hidden changes inside aggregate totals and reporting that serves different audiences.
The business value section develops planning, forecasting, budgeting and unit-economic reasoning. Calculate phased launch costs, demand-based estimates, signed forecast variance and the difference between average and variable unit cost. Separate a budget from a forecast and recognize when growth explains a larger bill. Compare useful outputs and quality constraints so a lower cost per activity does not conceal a worse customer outcome.
Optimization scenarios examine rightsizing, minimum capacity, retention, retrieval charges, sequential savings effects, commitment utilization and coverage, break-even usage and interruptible capacity. Architecture cases include operational effort, transfer costs and simple payback. Licensing and SaaS questions address entitlement fit, use-right validation and renewal timing. Sustainability examples distinguish absolute impact, impact per unit and financial price changes.
The practice-management section covers policy exceptions, guardrails, approval boundaries, change history, prioritization, decision rights, continuity and practical enablement. Learn to distinguish showback from financial chargeback, reconcile invoice adjustments and evaluate tools against representative use cases. Automation questions ask how to validate assumptions and preserve diagnosis and recovery when inputs change.
Each test includes 12 foundation questions, 12 usage-and-cost questions, 12 business-value questions, 14 optimization questions and 10 practice-management questions. Allow 90 minutes per test and use 75 percent as a study target. These are course learning settings, not claims about the current official examination duration, passing score or topic weights. The current public FinOps Framework informed the scope; official examination mechanics could not be confirmed from the accessible public certification materials. An author review refined answer phrasing and distractors. Twenty-four numerical checks were executed, and exported text, answer keys and all option explanations were compared with the source bank. Local lexical screening found no matching or high-similarity stems in the available collection. These checks are not an independent expert assessment and cannot establish semantic uniqueness against every course on the internet.
Basic familiarity with cloud or technology services and business costs is recommended. This course supplies practice questions, without videos, an exam voucher or accredited instruction.
