Develop your SAS Advanced Programming reasoning with 120 original questions from Cloudpuz Academy. This independent course provides two different 60-question practice tests for learners preparing for the A00-232 SAS 9.4 Advanced Programming performance-based examination. Every question has four choices, one best answer, an explanation for each option and a reference for further study. The questions are independently written learning material, not recalled examination items or an official question bank.
The SQL section asks you to reason about calculated columns, conditional expressions, query results, table aliases, result ordering and stored tables versus views. Work through inner and outer joins, missing keys, repeated matches, aggregation grain and the placement of filters. Compare set operations, identify when a query remerges summary statistics, and use inline views and subqueries to produce the intended result. Other scenarios cover SAS-specific query options, column attributes and metadata from DICTIONARY tables.
The macro section explores the relationship between macro processing and SAS program execution. Practice text substitution, arithmetic evaluation, delimiters, quoting, local and global symbol tables, parameters, conditional generation and iterative generation. Diagnose problems with MPRINT, MLOGIC, SYMBOLGEN and focused log messages. Questions also cover SQL INTO, CALL SYMPUTX, execution-time retrieval with SYMGET, indirect references, metadata-driven calls and source macro discovery through the autocall facility.
Advanced techniques include character and numeric arrays, multidimensional subscripts, temporary storage and one-time initialization. Hash scenarios cover keys and payloads, return codes, failed lookups, duplicate-key records, ordered output and reverse iteration. Additional questions address PICTURE formats, FCMP function definitions and library lookup, word and character searches, counting, LAG queues and regular-expression matching or replacement. Read each scenario's assumptions before choosing an answer: statement placement, data grain and execution timing often decide the outcome.
Each test contains 21 SQL questions, 21 macro questions and 18 advanced-technique questions, matching the official domain proportions of 35 percent, 35 percent and 30 percent. Each test allows 125 minutes and uses a 70 percent practice threshold. The official examination includes programming projects and uses a scaled passing score of 725 on a 200–1000 scale. Our percentage setting is a study target, not a conversion of that scaled score, and our multiple-choice format is different from the official assessment.
Use the first test to identify the concepts behind your mistakes. Review the explanations for all four choices and follow the reference where a behavior is unfamiliar. Then recreate examples and boundary cases in an authorized SAS environment before attempting the second set. These questions supplement hands-on programming preparation; they do not replace the practical work required for a performance-based examination. Familiarity with Base SAS programming is recommended, and candidates should verify SAS's current credential prerequisites before registering for an exam.
