Build confidence in SAS Base Programming through 120 original questions from Cloudpuz Academy. This independent course contains two different 60-question practice tests for learners studying the A00-231 SAS 9.4 Base Programming performance-based examination. Each question presents four choices and one best answer, with explanations for every option and a reference for further study. The scenarios are independently written and do not reproduce recalled examination questions or an official question bank.
The study scope follows the official SAS 9.4 Base Programming content guide. Access and data-creation questions cover library references, permanent and temporary tables, descriptor inspection, delimited-file imports, workbook access, concatenation, match-merging, SAS dates and datetime values, row filters and input versus output column selection. Read the assumptions carefully: small differences in statement placement can change which data enters a step and which observations are saved.
Data-management questions explore sort order, duplicate definitions, conditional processing, assignment order, character storage length, labels and formats, input renaming, retained accumulators and BY-group boundaries. Practice interpreting character and numeric functions, constructing dates, counting interval boundaries, converting types, using variable lists, tracing loops, transposing measures and resolving macro variables. The aim is to explain why the chosen behavior follows from the program rather than memorize a list of keywords.
The debugging section asks you to distinguish syntax defects from valid code that implements the wrong rule. Work through invalid conversions, zero denominators, automatic variables, targeted log messages, missing-value comparisons, branching mistakes, unexpected counts and merge cardinality. The reporting section covers detail listings, frequency tables, summary statistics, custom formats, titles, footnotes, PDF and Excel destinations, and delimited data exports.
Every test contains 15 questions on access and data creation, 23 on managing data, 11 on error handling and 11 on reports and output. Each practice test allows 135 minutes and uses a 70 percent passing setting. These are practice settings: the official examination uses a scaled passing score of 725 on a 200–1000 scale, so 70 percent is not a conversion of its passing score. Our 60-question test format also differs from the official examination format. Check the provider for current requirements.
Use the first attempt to identify gaps, then review both the correct answer and the explanations for the alternatives. Recreate the relevant examples in an authorized SAS learning environment and test additional boundary cases before attempting the second set. This multiple-choice course supplements hands-on preparation; it does not replace the programming tasks required for a performance-based examination. Familiarity with basic DATA and PROC steps is recommended.
This is a practice-test course without video lessons, software licenses or an examination voucher. Cloudpuz Academy is independent and is not affiliated with or endorsed by SAS Institute. SAS and other product names identify the study subjects. Completing these tests does not award or guarantee certification.
